The Peter Lynn Nova V2 is a new, unique depower foil kite. This one of a kind foil was designed to unite all the benefits of LEIs, like accessibility, ease of use and stability, with all the advantages of foils: better upwind, downwind, low wind performance and float.

The new Nova has been redefined and offers a lot more than you could see at first sight. The Dynamic profile of the Nova ensures the perfect combination between stability and ease of use, while creating a superfast and agile foil with a massive depower range. The new Nova is made of Skytex 32 making it a very lightweight wing that flies even in the lightest breeze. Developed for foil riders that want maximum stability with only little wind, while progressing in speed and racing.

The Nova doesn’t twist or has its tips fold in. It is highly stable yet agile, and it fills quickly with air due to a smart 4 intake system. Designed with relatively high cells and a balanced cell count, has resulted in a very stiff foil which retains its shape even under turbulent circumstances. Because foil kites like the Nova are highly efficient and deliver much more power per size than LEI’s, you can fly a much smaller wing than you might expect in any given wind speed.

The float on the Nova is so good you could even use the kite to ride some waves whilst the kite happily drifts along. Riding a wave on a foil board is something close to extraordinary!

The Nova’s innovative Dynamic profile makes the kite adjustable across its entire depower reach. Depowering the Nova creates a full reflex profile for more stability and control. Powering the Nova will release something spectacular resulting in a superfast and agile wing.

Every size has been developed individually to maximize performance. Each size comes with a different Aspect Ratio, Cell count and profile. This year PLKB also introduce the 15 and 18 metre ‘SuperNova’ sizes. These performance wings were developed with more race behavior for foil- and buggy riders in mind.

Made of durable Skytex 32 and with a weight starting at 1.11 kg, it gets you up on the water with only a few knots. The one-way inlets were redesigned to create an even more airtight foil that makes water relaunches effortless, even in low wind conditions.

The new Nova V2 is such a super versatile kite that you can easily fly as an Lei kite while enjoying all benefits of a foil kite at the same time; small packing, large wind range, huge big air and a competitive top speed.

The Nova has been thoroughly tested, in many different conditions; on Twin-tips, by Foil riders, Buggy riders and even on ski’s in a 2000km endurance trip in the Artic circle by Eric Leegwater, all to make sure that you get the best.

The Peter Lynn Nova is just at home on the land or snow as it is on the water!

Low Sideways Pull:

To get up on a hydrofoil it is important that the kite doesn’t generate too much sideways pull. Low sideways pull allows you to focus on holding your balance rather than dealing with the power of the kite.!

Foil Specific Performance:

Even though foil kites offer many advantages like low wind performance or upwind ability, many LEI riders consider foilkites to be difficult to use. This is why the Nova is special.

Highly Stable Rigid Wing:

The Nova’s high cell count and internal construction makes for a firm wing that doesn’t deform or has its tips fold in, this makes the kite highly reliable, and the bridle is tuned to offer maximum stability.

The Nova delivers much more power than an average LEI, making you able to use a small size in low wind.

Fills Fast with Internal Pressure:

The Nova’s 4 inlets have been placed in such a way that air gets in easily and the internal structure allows this air to move freely inside the kite to speed up inflation.

At the same time, the valves inside the wing prevent air from getting out.

SMS (Shape Memory Structure):

The inside of the kite is designed especially to maximize dimensional stability as well as reduced need for bridle points. The tension straps running along the bottom skin are a technical detail borrowed from the Twinskin/Arc design, and ensures proper bulging of the bottom skin while keeping the tension in check. The clever D and H Ribs allow for evenly spaced out bridle points and create a very rigid frame.

Technical detail previously used in the Twinskin design and adapted to make the NOVA extraordinary. The tension straps ensure proper bulging to create a super solid wing that will behave as a tube kite..

Medium Aspect Ratio:

The Nova’s medium Aspect Ratio and high cell count make for a very slick wing.

The high number of cells ensure the wings dimensional stability and prevents deforming of the designed shape.

The Medium Aspect ratio makes the kite highly stable and allows for ease of use in a large wind range.

High End Canopy Profile:

To ensure a light weight yet tough construction, we’ve used 30D Ripstop Nylon throughout the entire wing.

The top and bottom skin have a soft coating for optimal cell bulging, and the internal construction is made out of hard coated 30D ripstop for strength and rigidity.

Dynacore Bridle:

Dynacore is a sleeved Dyneema® line, which offers all the benefits of Dyneema® (minimal stretch, direct & responsive steering) but with additional protection. This insures minimal maintenance and tuning of your bridles.

To make the bridles easy to understand, each Dynacore bridle lines for the A, B, C and brake bridle rows come in a different colour. These different colours offer a clear overview of which line goes where, making it straightforward to set-up the kite or untangle if necessary.

One Line Relaunch:

The Nova is water re-launchable. It’s closed cell construction and coated UL fabrics keep water out and air in. It is recommended to practice this in shallow water before venturing deeper.

Better still would be to keep it in the air at all times! Do not use in waves if you can’t maintain the kite in the air.

Ronstan Orbit Pulleys:

The Nova’s speed system is constructed with 2×2 Ronstan® Orbit pulleys, these high quality pulleys weigh only 9 grams and allow for loads up to 250Kg.

And since the line goes through the bearing, it will always stay connected even in the rare case the pulley gets damaged.

Single Designs:

To accomplish maximum performance across the entire range of sizes we do not scale up or down. That is why each individual size has its very own design specifics, cell count and aspect ratio.

This ensures optimal performance in each size as well as synergized handling, feel and balance across the range.

Reinforced Bridle Points:

The bridle tabs are double stitched and reinforced with a Dacron patch for strength and durability, a Peter Lynn innovation which has proven its reliability time over time.

Cross Vents:

A smart profile design to reduce weight and create and easy inflow.

Control Bar
Peter Lynn Compass Control Bar:

Peter Lynn Compass Control Bar and Lines:

The all new PLKB Compass Bar has been redesigned with an all new Quick Release with easy Click Recovery. Many new features such as Ceramic Ball Bearings, Pre-Stretched SK75 lines, 3D grip, Replaceble Loops and with new looks, the Compass bar is all you need.

ISO 21853 Safety Standard for Quick Release Systems Certified

The PLKB Compass Bar comes with the The ISO standard 21853 certification. This certificate has been introduced in 2020 to standardise and saftey check all quick releae systems. It shows that the Quick Release has been tested and shall withstand a load of three times the maximum user weight of 120kg equal to 3 600 N, without any breakage and shall still function as intended.

One-Hand Recovery:

The PLKB Compass bar has been designed to be as easy as possible. You can easily recover the opened Quick Release when laying in the water hanging on to your kite. WIth a simple 'click' you can push the QR Loop back and continue riding.

Ceramic Ball Bearing:

The PLKB Compass bar comes with a Ceramic ball bearing swivel. This makes twisting the bar super smooth and keeps your lines untwisted. The Ball bearing is open so sand can flushes out easily.

Twisting Safety Connector:

To keep the Safety Line in good condition it should not be twisted. Because the connector is placed behind het ball bearing, it unwinds automatically.

Clamcleat with Velcro Lock:

The Trimline and Clamcleat have been developed to create a perfect lock for easy power adjustment. When your kite is depowered. The grab handle can be locked to the side of the clamcleat with the Velcro Lock.

Dyneema SK75 425KG Lines 22m:

The Compass bar has been made with only the highest quality SK75 lines. These lines can handle up to 425KG and are braid to perfection.
