The Shinn Superking Chromatic is dedicated to Twintipe performance in lighter winds. Maximising fun in minimum winds the Superking is unashamedly directed towards those previously frustrating days where your freestyle model just won’t come to life.
By using an adaptation of the Split Concave base, the Superking provides exceptionally early planing, a smooth and comfortable ride with upwind performance that will both surprise and delight.
More kiteboarding is better than less kiteboarding - we don’t all have the luxury of perfect conditions but the Superking guarantees on-the-water action that won’t have you rushing back to the beach if the wind increases a few knots.
By combining a naturally efficient rocker with bilateral flex tips the Superking provides carving, edging and POP normally associated with a higher wind range dedicated design.
Kiteboarding is fun and more kiteboarding is better than less kiteboarding - we don’t all have the luxury of perfect conditions but the Superking guarantees on-the-water action on days that would previously be lost.
Designed to let you both increase your water hours and improve your skills in sub-optimal conditions this deck is the instigator of unexpectedly epic light wind sessions going far beyond what can reasonably be expected for a light wind board.
Footbed and Straps:
The connection between rider and board can make or break the quality of your ride. Of course they should look slick but only after the function is perfect.
Shinn Kiteboarding's deep section EVA cushioning ensures luxurious comfort even during the harshest landings, whilst a carefully placed section of memory foam adjusts the surface to the shape of your feet after only a couple of hours riding. Multi-position fixation points allow you to fine tune your stance to perfection. The Shinn footstrap has been shaped to provide maximum grip on your foot with minimal pressure points and complete ease of adjustability.
Fins
All Shinn twin tips are supplied with high visibility Nylon fins and deck protection plates. Shaped exclusively for Shinn (for unsurpassed durability), this 53mm shape provides exceptional grip for it's size whilst still offering great manoeuvrability.
Core Construction:
What's inside your board will make a huge difference to how it performs. There is a lot of talk about flex but the mount of flex is just the tip of the iceberg, what"s more important is where the board flex"s and how fast it responds after that flex.
Each Shinn twin tip has a carefully engineered core that optimises these characteristics and enhances them for the target rider. Core materials, glass layup and mould shaping are all factors that help us in this area but the heart of every Shinn twin tip is comprised 'mostly' of an Alabasia wood core.
No other core material offers the same blend of consistent flex over extended periods of time, feather light weight and near indestructible durability (not to mention environmental friendliness).
Mould Shaping:
Used especially for the Superking this SQ3XL 3D deck mould gives a large area of progressive flex transitioning from the thicker centre into the thinner tips. Faster planning yet still offering fantastic control, ideal for lighter winds and larger riders.
Rocker and Outline:
Effective light-wind boards are not simply oversized regular boards, simply up-scaling a smaller board rarely gives good results. To achieve the light-wind performance Shinn Kiteboarding extended the flat section in the tips of the rocker without altering the radius of the central section that mostly helps with control.
A slightly straighter outline into the tip area when compared to the Player increases both edge grip and upwind ability, ideal for situations where the kite is delivering less power. As with all Shinn boards, Superking features a central concave washing out to flat areas in the tips to provide both earlier planning and extra flex control.
