The Cross Kites Pro Hype TR uses the same kite platform as the Hype Play, but comes with a 2-line bar and kite-killer safety system, giving the kite a different character and a much more dedicated trainer feel.
Available in four sizes, the 1.6, 1.9, 2.2, and 2.5m sizes are designed on its own rather than scaled up or down from a single shape. Cell count increases through the range, keeping the smaller sizes light and quick to handle while the larger sizes hold their canopy shape cleanly under higher loads.
The control bar makes steering direct and obvious: rotate it one way and one line shortens while the other lengthens, so the kite reacts immediately to your input. That makes the Hype TR especially intuitive for anyone learning bar control.
The kite killer adds the safety layer a trainer needs. Releasing the bar flags the kite out on one side, taking away most of the pulling force while keeping the bar and kite connected to the pilot, useful when the force gets uncomfortable, something unexpected happens, or you simply want to stop the kite quickly.
The bar itself uses redesigned bar ends with more room for winding the lines, and the kite-killer connection built directly into the bar end for a cleaner setup. Clear colour coding makes left and right immediately recognisable, with red always on the left.
The canopy uses a lightweight 40D nylon shell with stronger 70D polyester internal profiles, paired with a low-stretch Dyneema bridle and SK75 Dyneema flying lines, both with stitched terminations for a clean, consistent connection. The Hype TR comes ready to fly, straight out of the bag.
