Weight Reduction:
Ozone stripped the double surface design down to the performance essentials and took inspiration from the internal ribs in their R1 V5 ram air race kites. Applying similar internal rib cut out shapes on the Fusion V3 Ultra-X have reduced weight while also increasing pressure between the two surfaces thanks to better air flow inside. Combined with the new miniribs on the trailing edge, and more efficient air intake valves near the leading edge, the double surface profile is now even tighter and more solid. All aspects of upwind performance and handling have improved as a result, so you can discover the ultimate in smooth handling, however rough the conditions may seem.
Variable Leech Line:
Use the pigtail adjustment on each wingtip to fine-tune the leech (trailing edge) tension to suit various conditions and performance requirements.
Tighter leech - Increases low-end power by creating more profile camber, making deeper downwind angles and riding through lulls easier to achieve. A tight leech slightly reduces top-end speed and overall stability.
Looser leech - Maximises top-end speed and upwind performance at optimum trim. The wing becomes more stable in gusts, and slightly more sensitive in lulls. Riding at deep downwind angles with a loose leech requires a more advanced technique.
Manoeuvrability:
The Fusion V3 Ultra-X is much more manoeuvrable, making tacks and gybes easier and quicker to initiate. Take a bigger wing, capitalise on its power, and let its ease-of-use help you preserve vital energy across a long race day.
Lightweight Upper Surface Canopy:
A lighter weight upper surface canopy material further contributes to the overall reduction in weight.
Drainage Holes:
Water ingress now drains from between the surfaces quicker.
