The Ozone Zephyr is a renowned dynamic light wind model, without doubt it was the first light wind specific kite on the market to deliver efficient performance and handling.

With an incredible wind range the Zephyr gives you the possibility to continue riding when the wind increases, this unique attribute sets it apart from competitors.

The seventh version of the Zephyr brings modifications to the profiles, increasing the canopy stability for a smoother feeling in the air. The revised sail tension calculation and a refined bridle set up improve bar feeling and operating range.

The Zephyr V7 features a new rip-stop material combination. The new rip-stop canopy material has an advanced ultra flex coating improving feedback in gustier conditions making for a smoother ride. The new technical rip-stop dacron is super tough, used on the Leading Edge and Struts it improves strength, durability and longevity.

Having the power of a 17m kite on demand with the feedback of a 13m translates to more fun in light winds. The incredibly nimble handling with a tight radius turn, ease of use and the ability to have fun in low winds characterises the Zephyr.

It is perfect for cruising, jumping, air style, honing strapless airs or learning handle passes. The boost is impressive and floaty, with instant power delivery and superior up-wind performance. Re-launch is surprisingly quick and easy considering its size, simply by turning the bar or using the Re-launch Balls on the leader lines the kite smoothly lifts off the water ready for more action.

The Zephyr V7 is the perfect accomplice for when the wind is looking light or unstable, it will get you out enjoying the conditions for any length of time whatever the style you choose to ride. Or if you mainly ride in light wind spots and are looking for an all-round one-kite quiver, this is the kite for you!

The Zephyr also has a crisp powerful feeling and a very direct positive bar feel, with instant power delivery compared to the previous model. The new plan form, profile and sail tension help control the surfaces which gives the Zephyr a more cohesive feel. All these performance enhancements make it perfect for practicing new school moves or just cruising, kite loops are made easy and the boost is impressive while floaty.

If you blow a trick and the kite ends up on the water, it still amazes a fantastic effortless water relaunch even in sub 10 knot winds! If you dial the trick on a Zephyr you’re will be away laughing once the wind picks up and you’re throwing down the same on your 10m kite.

Historically big kites don’t loop, the Zephyr though has got this sorted without the need for troublesome pulleys.

Teijin Technoforce D2 and Teijin Dacron:

Teijin is the world’s leading supplier of polyester fabrics and sail materials for marine sports. We use the remarkably durable Teijin D2 canopy material in all our water kites and wings. Teijin D2 is the benchmark in quality with proven superiority in durability and dynamics.

We use the incredibly strong and reliable Teijin Dacron in all our water kites and wings. Dacron is used on parts requiring rigidity and stability – the Leading Edge, Struts, Wingtips, and all loaded areas with extra reinforcement for enhanced load distribution and durability.

One-Pump Inflation System:

The One Pump inflation system enables quick and easy setup with single point inflation of the kite.

All Struts are connected to the Leading Edge via inflation points – air will flow through the hose to inflate the entire kite.

Clips seal the hose connecting the Struts and Leading Edge to prevent unwanted airflow in case of damage.

Tuned Bridle Geometry:

Ozone work extensively to develop the size range to feel in tune with each other.

Every kite has a unique bridle layout, individually tested and fine-tuned to maximize the feeling and performance.

Anti-Snag Line Deflectors:

The Anti-Snag line deflectors prevent bridles and lines from tangling around the wing tip.

Safety is increased when launching with a partner and water re-launch is made easier.

Unique Bladder Construction:

Ozone bladders are constructed in-house with advanced custom built welding machines.

Internal Reinforcements:

Leading Edge bumpers are often large and unnecessary cosmetic items. Ozone build their kites and wings for performance and durability using the best materials & components available.

Any areas requiring scuff protection we use a lightweight durable material with superior abrasion resistance, while keeping a low profile in order to reduce drag and maintain performance.

Reinforced Trailing Edge:

Double layer Teijin D2 Trailing Edge strip with an internal light weight Dyneema reinforcement – this reduces canopy wear and helps to maintain optimum Trailing Edge tension as designed.

The Dyneema line also reduces any potential stretch at the Trailing Edge.

High Volume Deflate / Inflate Valve:

Direct Connect Struts:

Double Stitched Folded Seams:

Sail canopy seams are stitched, folded, and then stitched again for a clean and strong connection of the panels.

This means all loads are spread evenly into the sail ensuring the kite flies and performs at its best.

Reinforced Leading Edge and Struts:

Control Bar

Ozone Contact Control Bar:

The Contact-Water Control System offers the latest in safety features, a clean control bar design and a simple easy-to-use trimming system.

Push Away Quick Release:

The control system features a new Megatron pushaway quick release safety with total flag out of the kite. The release handle is ergonomic with positive release forces (under 8kg) allowing for quick and easy release. Simple re-assembly saves time and gets you back up and riding faster.

Two Safety Modes:

The Megatron offers riders a choice of two safety modes, the recommended standard safety or the optional Suicide safety.

The standard Flag out safety offers 100% flag out in all situations by releasing the Megatron or letting go of the bar when un-hooked.

The Suicide option offers 100% flag out only when the Megatron is released whilst hooked in, allowing riders practicing handle passes to let go of the bar with out flagging the kites safety (not recommended).

Anti-twist 100% Flag Out Line:

The flag out line running through the Megatron & safety leash attachment at the bottom keeps the leash tangle free when doing rotations and manually unwinding the centre lines using the Spinning Handle.

Soft Bar Ends with Hide-away Elastic Line Retainers:

Soft bar ends for comfort and are less likely to damage lightly constructed boards. Hide-away elastic line retainers keep wound lines secured.

Stainless Steel Leader Line Pin:

Superior strength is achieved with a Stainless pin running through the bar. This creates an ultra strong and direct connection between the control bar to flying lines.

Low Friction Centre Piece:

The control bar features a low friction aluminum centre piece designed to reduce trim line wear.

Auto Positioning Chicken Loop:

Designed in conjunction with the bar centre piece, the Megatron spinning handle allows chicken loop auto positioning, offering easy unhooked riding and hooking back in.

Magnetic trim handle system:

The Magnetic trim handle connects to a magnetic neoprene sock covering the clam cleat to reduce tangles when the trimmer is depowered.

PU Covered trim line & cast stainless steel de-power ring:

The tough PU covered trim significantly reduces wear when sheeting in and out, whilst the smooth running de-power ring also prevents trim line wear.

The Contact-Water Control System bar sizes come in 38cm, 45cm, 50cm and 55cm. The larger size PU chicken loop (sold separately) is perfect for riders with longer arms or for riders wanting even easier hooking in & out.
